Hotel Software Beginnings | Remco Software
Our Beginnings
In 1985, Bob McNeill began producing hotel management software from his home. What started in the spare bedroom soon expanded to the basement, then grew to the whole basement and eventually moved out of the house. Together with his wife, Elaine, REMco was formed. Initially, they sold and serviced computers and software, wrote and manufactured their own software and provided computer technical assistance at all times. Remco’s Property Management System, NiteClerk, was DOS-based and was known as a quality software program among small and mid-sized properties.
By 1992, Remco employed eleven people, had outgrown two commercial sites and doubled its business and volume each year since the beginning. In late 1997, Remco released its first version of NiteVision to take complete advantage of the Windows® graphical user interface. At the time, NiteVision was one of the very first Windows®-based property management systems available.
Today, Remco’s growth continues to be both definitive and measurable with installations in over 3000 properties worldwide. Even though NiteVision has evolved to become one of the most affordable, feature-rich property management systems today, Remco believes in the value of lasting relationships with its customers. That is why Remco is aiming to be more than a PMS provider. We want to be your hospitality partner and solutions provider, helping turn today’s challenges into tomorrow’s opportunities.
